BREAKING: Kentuckiana Pride Foundation postpones annual June event
The Kentuckiana Pride Foundation has postponed the annual Kentuckiana Pride Festival and Parade that was scheduled to take place on Friday June 19 and Saturday June 20 at Waterfront Park. New dates for the 20th anniversary of the annual festival and parade will be announced mid May.
After much consideration and closely monitoring the COVID-19 virus and its impact on large gatherings the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation voted on Wednesday to postpone this year’s festival. The board and its festival partners are working closely with city officials on alternative dates.
Foundation president Allen Hatchell stated “We look forward to gathering together and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community later this year, we have a steller 20th anniversary festival planned and are committed to ensuring your safety.”
Other Pride month activities are being rescheduled, for the most updated information visit kypride.com or any of the Kentuckiana Pride Foundation social media channels.
Last year the Kentuckiana Pride Festival and Parade drew more than 35,000 people to Big Four Lawn. The two day Pride Festival featured over 100 vendors, live music on two stages featuring headliners Big Freedia and Daya, a Kids and Family area, and much more.
Updates on the annual festival and parade will be provided via social media, email and at kypride.com.
