LOUISVILLE, KY — Pride Games Events proudly announces the return of Melanin Pride Weekend 2026, celebrating its 10th Anniversary from September 18–20, 2026. For the past decade, Melanin Pride Weekend has created intentional spaces where Black LGBTQ+ individuals and allies can celebrate culture, community, authenticity, and pride.

Founded by Desiree Carr, Melanin Pride Weekend began with one vision: to create safe, welcoming, and affirming experiences where Black LGBTQ+ people could be celebrated unapologetically. Ten years later, that vision has evolved into one of Kentucky’s signature Black LGBTQ+ celebrations, bringing together thousands of attendees, entertainers, community leaders, businesses, nonprofits, and allies from across the region.

This year’s 10th anniversary promises to be the biggest celebration yet, featuring five events throughout the weekend.

The weekend concludes with a free outdoor community celebration featuring local vendors, food trucks, games, live entertainment, youth activities, community resources, family fun, and opportunities to connect with organizations serving the Louisville community.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can expect nationally and locally recognized performers, drag entertainers, DJs, community organizations, small businesses, food vendors, networking opportunities, and experiences that celebrate the richness and diversity of the Black LGBTQ+ community.

“As we celebrate ten years, this weekend represents so much more than entertainment,” said Desiree Carr, Founder and CEO of Pride Games Events. “It’s about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and celebrated exactly as they are. Over the last decade, we’ve built something that brings people together, creates opportunities for Black LGBTQ+ artists and entrepreneurs, and reminds our community that we belong. I hope that every person who walks through our doors leaves feeling inspired, connected, and proud of who they are.”

Carr says the anniversary is both a celebration of the past and a launch into the future.

“This milestone belongs to everyone who has attended an event, volunteered, partnered with us, sponsored us, or simply believed in the vision. We’re excited to continue growing Melanin Pride Weekend and creating even more opportunities for our community throughout Louisville and beyond.”
