- Trump Administration Using Executive Powers on Blue State Cities: Several cities in blue states are being threatened or have already had troops deployed there by the Trump administration under the cover of restoring order. However, many cities in red states have much higher violent crime rates and are being ignored by the administration.
- Plans for LGBTQ+ friendly Quarter in Nottingham: Broad Street in Hockley, Nottingham has always been an important place for the LGBTQ+ population there. The project to create the Rainbow Quarter was announced at the end of July, and should be a reality in 2026.
- Colorado Parents of Trans Child Move to New Zealand to Protect Child: Recently, a couple from the US shared their story about having to leave the US in order to protect their 10-year-old trans child. They were uneasy with the new administration, but when they were informed their daughter would no longer have access to trans healthcare as a minor, they decided it was time to leave.
- Nepal Queer Community Hosts First Pride Rally Since U.S. Budget Cuts: After the Trump administration began dismantling the U.S. Agency for International Development, many of Nepal’s support centers for LGBTQ+ people had to be closed due to lack of funding. Nepal, a rapidly advancing country for LGBTQ+ folks, was one of the first Asian countries to allow same-sex marriage. On August 10th, the Nepal queer community held its first pride rally since the cuts.
- Bautzen, Germany Pride Continues With Third Annual Pride Despite Public Threats: Bautzen held its third pride this year, with increased security. In the previous year, 1000 event participants showed up along with nearly 700 protestors. Another pride event this year in Germany was cancelled due to the threats received.
