- Trans Documentary “I ME US” Praised for Bravery: A documentary following the lives of trans people in Cumbria, England has led to praises of bravery for those who told their stories. As a more rural area of England, trans people there are regularly treated poorly, so members of the production hoped to inspire the community with its creation.
- PEPFAR Saved From Funding Cuts: PEPFAR, a hugely impactful global assistance program that fights HIV/AIDS, has been spared from a proposed $400 million cut to funding due to objections in the Senate. Despite this victory, many other crucial foreign aid programs were victim to funding cuts.
- Trump Administration Halts LGBTQ+ Youth Suicide Hotline: With at least 46% of trans youth seriously considering suicide, the Trump administration has shut down the LGBTQ+ youth suicide hotline, which specialized in serving trans individuals 25 and under. The suicide prevention hotline will continue serving the public, but not necessarily with LGBTQ+ trained professionals.
- Puerto Rico Governor Signs Harsh Gender-Affirming Care Law: Senate Bill 350 prevents anyone 21 and under from receiving any kind of gender-affirming care, including hormone blockers, HRT, and surgical procedures. Healthcare professionals are under threat to receive severe punishments for providing care.
- Rural Pride Celebrations Appearing in France: Previously seen only in France’s large cities, pride celebrations are popping up all over the country, even in small villages. Rural queer folks in France are forming organizations and creating community to create safe spaces for one another everywhere.
