Last week, Kentucky native Lexi Love, the second runner-up on Season 17 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” joined Sabrina Carpenter on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Love and other “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestants joined Carpenter on stage for her performance of the new single “Tears,” dancing alongside her while holding signs in support of transgender rights.

Love told WLKY that the experience was a dream.

“The little 13-year-old in me that started out watching the VMAs and always dreaming of being on that stage is jumping for joy on the inside,” Love said.
