LINK IN BIO ✍️ @rsisk8191 It’s not hard to see why Critchelow was so taken by Feed Louisville. The nonprofit works to combat food injustice by collecting leftover or otherwise to-be-thrown-out ingredients from local restaurants and retailers, repurposing them into complete meals and dispersing them across the community via partner organizations. When the organization first started during the pandemic, it worked only with restaurants that found themselves with an excess of ingredients at the end of the day. Now, Feed Louisville partners with even more restaurants in addition to Dare to Care Food Bank, major grocery stores and more.

✍️ @mckennahorsley & @luckejamie Railing against the “woke left” and embracing President Donald Trump, Kentucky Republican U.S. Rep. Andy Barr confirmed his run for U.S. Senate by unveiling a video Tuesday.

Barr’s announcement comes as no surprise after weeks of speculation following Sen. Mitch McConnell’s announcement in February that he would not seek reelection. McConnell has held the seat since 1984.

In the video, Barr denounces “insane DEI initiatives,” referring to diversity, equity and inclusion programs that Trump has banned in the federal government and is moving to end elsewhere. Barr echoes also Trump’s presidential campaign’s emphasis on transgender issues, vowing to “lock up the sickos who allow biological men to share locker rooms with our daughters.”

✍️ @19thnews PEPFAR, the global program announced by President George W. Bush in 2003, has been credited with saving more than 26 million lives through access to antiretrovirals, which suppress the virus, and preventing the spread of HIV in 5 million children, according to the United Nations program on AIDS. As of last year, PEPFAR provided lifesaving HIV treatment for more than 20 million people. Activists said the program is in grave danger under the second Trump administration. Secretary of State Marco Rubio temporarily halted most foreign aid grants in January, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which carried out much of the work to provide PEPFAR aid, has largely been dissolved.

✍️ @spencerjenkss The University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky have canceled their LGBTQ+ specific graduation ceremonies amid President Trump’s administration’s crackdown on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Today, the UofL LGBTQ+ Center shared a graphic on Instagram with details about the Lavender Ceremony, but it was marked with a bold “Canceled” overlay and a caption that read: “Due to recent changes, the University of Louisville will not be hosting a Lavender Graduation this year. However, ALL students are still welcome to pick up a rainbow cord — no matter your gender, race, sexual orientation, or any part of your identity.”
