Monkeypox vaccines available at North Central District Health Department
The North Central District Health Department will be accepting walk-ins and scheduled appointments for monkeypox vaccinations at the Shelby County Health Department, 615 11th Street in Shelbyville, until 4 p.m. today, Aug. 24. You do not need to reside in the county to receive a vaccine.
Due to a lack of interest in available appointments, the Henry, Spencer and Trimble county health departments will not be administering the monkeypox vaccine at this time. If you reside in one of those counties and would like a monkeypox vaccine, please visit the Shelby County Health Department.
Due to a limited number of vaccines across the commonwealth, the Kentucky Department of Public Health has set criteria that must be met to receive the vaccine and ensure that the most at-risk population receives the vaccines first.
