ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS
As funding grows more difficult for nonprofits and independent media, Queer Kentucky remains dedicated to finding bold and creative ways to uplift queer stories across the state. We welcome submissions that reflect the richness of queer life in Kentucky and beyond—stories that question, celebrate, and challenge. Our mission is to center LGBTQ+ voices through cultural critique, opinion writing, and sharp, thoughtful commentary that makes an impact.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer, local activist, or someone with something important to say, we encourage you to submit your work.
We accept original, unpublished op-eds that:
- Reflect the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ people in Kentucky and surrounding areas
- Offer a clear point of view on a relevant cultural, political, or social issue.
- Engage with current events or urgent local conversations
- Uplift intersectional perspectives, especially voices from marginalized parts of our community (BIPOC, trans folks, rural queers, people living with disabilities, etc.)
- Promote LGBTQ+ events, organizations, and spaces that build community.
