2024 Queer Election Guide: Vote Smart, Vote Local, Vote Queer | Queer Kentucky
You don’t vote for people you don’t understand. This guide shows what local & state offices do- from local judges to health boards to school oversight- through a queer lens.
While the presidential race dominates our feeds, real power starts closer to home. City councils, school boards, county clerks, and state legislators shape the policies that impact our daily lives- from healthcare and housing to LGBTQ+ protections and education.
That’s why we created the 2024 Queer Election Guide & Toolkit– a resource built to help you understand what’s on your ballot, why it matters, and how local and state offices actually work.
Designed by Northern Kentucky graphic designer, activist, and failing plant mom Kara Henry (they/them) and written by award-winning civics journalist Olivia Krauth (she/her), this guide was proudly produced by Kentuckians for voters across city, county, and even state lines. Whether you’re in Louisville, Covington, Cincinnati, or southern Indiana, this toolkit breaks down the seats that shape your life and the big issues behind them.
We encourage you to share this Queer Election Guide with your friends and family-especially those who might skip the local races. Use the buttons to your left to post on social media or download the full guide here.
See you at the polls on Election Day.
