On the 3rd, Mercury settles into the sign of Gemini where it cosmically blossoms.
This is a placement that thirsts. It chases after information and knowledge like a voyager chasing after waterfalls. Mercury in Gemini is the ultimate messenger, a thrill seeker in the form of language and art. Its gift is that of communication and connection. It can bridge gaps and connect “the dots” between ideas or people. Give visibility and a platform to something once unheard or unseen. It is also powerful enough to burn the bridge completely, a scorched earth ready for something new and improved to be rebirthed. The Twins are made up of a lover and a fighter.
One whole trickster to those who aren’t as flighty or pliable.
There is whimsy but never is Gemini ditzy, even if it tramples over its words. Mercury in Gemini is mainly a thinker. The sign known as “the chatterbox” can be quite quiet sometimes. It is observant. It takes notice. It is tuned into details and reads the room, the information pouring in like a divine download. The blabbering takes place just as much in person as on the page. Gemini speaks through more means than just its mouth. It communicates through everything from the shifts in the breeze to the rolls of a wave. It is in constant communication with its surroundings.
The mind is agile. Our thoughts are malleable and shifting. We do not stay stuck in past routines or outdated ways of thinking. We open ourselves up to the truth of change and the potency of flexibility. Gemini’s influence allows us to shake off the shackles and restraints. We feel like we are granted permission to question, to do things differently, and to wear our autonomy proudly. Our individualism becomes infectious. It spreads, inspiring others to think outside of whatever box they’ve put themselves in. Together, our evolution feels a little more effortless as we think our way out of difficult situations and the things that bind us.
On 6th we will encounter a very moody lunation with a new moon in 16° Gemini.
This moon has two faces. On one side, it could gift us a sense of adventure. We want to explore with some of us feeling empowered to seek out our desires or to reveal the feelings we’ve kept inside for far too long. We feel as though we can push past self-limitations and truly grow. We expand and calibrate ourselves into what we believe to be a better human being.
Conversely, this moon can also push us further into our biases. It could make us feel more attached to what we think we know, and more rigid in processes or how we feel. Gemini moons always have an unpredictability or a flip side. It is best to stay on your toes, ready to catch whatever may be thrown at you.
This moon asks us if we have truly expanded in the ways we think we have or need to. Have we truly participated in our growth? Do we want to be a part of the problem or the solution? Our convictions, no matter what they are, will be strong. Most of us believe that what we know is “right”. This moon will challenge us to balance the thought of multiple truths existing at once.
Mars will enter Taurus on the 9th bringing us catharsis.
Mars in Taurus is not comfortable. Mars likes to move and dart around and within Taurus energy, it is sluggish. A painful molasses to a planet that prefers to be nimble. Taurus teaches us to pace ourselves and root into a routine or practice. It is a debilitated Mars but diligent. Patience is the gift afforded by this placement. Patience allows us to be thorough, carefully realizing our efforts and dreams. Even if what we want is still somewhere off in the distance, we wait. We are not discouraged by distance or time. We are encouraged to work harder and realistically.
Taurus relishes the time it takes to accomplish goals. The details within a body of work or the dedication it takes to craft something leave this placement soaring. Mars in Taurus also does not mind laying its body on the line for something worthwhile. It is industrious. It knows how to truly appreciate things. All of the worry and doubt are purged away by remaining resolute and strong. We keep going on, keep pushing, slowly developing and evolving.
We could even become possessed by our efforts and desire to make things better, to prove that we have improved. We could lament the part of ourselves that wishes we could have been more careful in the past. We may wish we could have seen things faster or clearer sooner but life is not linear. Mars in Taurus makes peace with this, choosing to love the harder parts of life and choosing to love the harder parts of itself.
The 17th will find us swimming deep into Cancerian energy as Mercury and Venus enter the sign.
If Mercury in Gemini is a poet, Mercury in Cancer is a songstress. They whisper their little ditties to themselves, humming to the animals in the forest, on a Cinderella vibe. Soft-spoken, you have to listen closely to catch the wave they are on. Mercury in Cancer doesn’t bombard you with information nor does it soak in information from its surroundings. It uses its shell well and as a filter. It’s selective. It’s secretive. You must be welcomed into the garden of Cancer’s thoughts.
Communication is sacred to a Mercury in Cancer. They use their words when it matters, for things and to the folks that matter to them. Cancer doesn’t feel the need to yell or shout. It’s possible that you may not hear them at all until they chuckle under their breath at a small comment that could’ve been easily brushed off. That little joke you made that was hilarious but no one heard it- Cancer did. And they’re cracking up with you. They will always hear the subtle and unnoticed. It’s the little things that stick with them.
During this transition, we will hold on to those dear to us. Our mind will work in mysterious ways, ideas coming in elusively but still commanding. Cancer energy is quiet but it is ingenious. It can be shrewd too as cardinal signs are always business-oriented. This will bring out our more feminine and nurturing nature, a softer touch and process. We can tend to our plans and efforts in a beautiful way. In ways that will truly make a difference even if it’s small. The results will echo loud and clear eventually. It will be stored in our hearts and our minds as memory within Cancer is impeccable. We may choose to forgive but we will not forget. Once again, it’s the little things and Cancer keeps score.
It’s a tie between Venus in Cancer and Venus in Leo for the role of the hopeless romantic. Perhaps they both are and it’s just a matter of the feeling that is exuded. Venus in Leo will have its time but let’s focus on Venus in Cancer because it loves attention. Giving it more than receiving it but it will still welcome gifts in its tiny little, crabby arms. Its love is like home. The kind of love that you recognize by its smell like a wolf recognizing its pack. It is a crocheted blanket and freshly cooked meal kind of passion. Tender, ooey gooey, and flavorful. Being in love with Cancer is cozy.
Caring is ingrained inside of Cancer. They are the mothers of the zodiac, an exquisite provider. They hold people close to their bosom, ready to please and feed however necessary. Just like a mother, they cannot leave those they care for so easily even to their detriment. It is not easy for them to let go. Each minute and every second is accounted for and held onto because time matters to them. History matters. Sticking with or by a Cancer grants you a fierce warrior whenever needed. A true ride or die, regardless of how others may feel about them or the person they protect. All of that love and enrichment will not be in vain. It will never be forgotten.
We see through imperfections in our connections and are willing to nurture them into something more mature. Something lovely even if it is disjointed or different. To Cancer, a mature love doesn’t nitpick or dissect every little thing. It’s a love that knows that it means well and that mistakes happen because we’re human and flawed. We look deeper into others’ intentions and ourselves with unconditional love instead of judgment.
Here comes the sun and the solstice as we enter Cancer season on the 20th.
When the sun meets this lunar ruled sign, we are not sure what to make of it. Some people see Cancer and are mesmerized while others are terrified, preferring to stay far away from The Crab. The stereotype of a Cancer Sun is temperamental and sensitive and yeah, that’s a fair assessment. The classic crybaby trope may be true but it is played out. Cancer isn’t just a sobbing reminder of life’s woes, it asks us why we are so afraid to feel in the first place.
Cancer loves melancholy. They slip into it like a silk robe, sensual and comfortable. The way that Cancer wears sadness is something to take note of. Sadness is a normal emotion though feared. Cancer can somehow make a pool of their tears look like a sanctuary. A mystifying grotto where you are not sure how you got there but you long to stay for a while. It dares you to unload the burden of “having it together” all the time. Cancer is a weeping mess and it loves it. But Cancer is no damsel in distress. Its strength lies in the fact that it is not afraid to cry or to show that it cares. Its armor is the way it can find humor in the darkest moments, making others and itself laugh in the face of pain. Cancer alchemizes suffering and shadows into light and gold.
We can see the brighter side of life when the sun blazes through Cancer. Our intuition and our ability to find remedies to heal ourselves is heightened. We all are in tune with the moon and mimic her shifts and are comfortable with the full spectrum of human sentiment. We are more comfortable with our authenticity. We sway and allow our vessels and hearts to be pushed and pulled, the tides of emotion felt fully, absolutely, and without fear.
We are rounding out the month with a full moon in 1° Capricorn.
This month may have been full of honesty (maybe too much) but this lunar energy can help us feel more prepared to take on any new challenges or issues that may have popped up. We will become more fixed and grounded in the new emotional developments that may have happened over the past few weeks. What is on our spirit does not waver as we are dedicated to them through thick and thin. We may need to figure out how to communicate this appropriately, our directness or blunt tone more noticeable than what we are trying to convey.
But what we are more concerned with is what we put out into the ether, not necessarily the way we send it out. Sugar-coated words and voices don’t matter so much to us by the end of the month. What matters is sticking to what you have promised. Do your words hold weight? Or are they still shifting out and away, fluttering like sand in the wind?
Capricorn energy may not be the most fun but it is forthright. Its emotions don’t gush out like a water moon, it keeps it all contained. It teaches us responsibility. It radiates authority. Capricorn is candid in how it feels and it does not need tact. It would rather say things with its chest because it feels so deep. It means it wholeheartedly. We resist seeking outside validation as actively following the crowd will limit us. This moon dares us to find wisdom from within, following our moral compass. We stand alone, unafraid. We become leaders in our own right and allow our instincts to take the reins as we deal with great change.
