How did you activate and organize your community for equality?
Being present for the community. Using my skills as the Commission’s Education Chairperson, responsible to facilitate communications with the community at large in an effort to establish dialogues around the current disconnects that exist currently in the educational system dealing with access and diversity. Organizing quarterly dialogue with the Jefferson County School Board, developing a partnership to create an environment that will foster learning at a higher level, engaging parents, educating teachers and advocating for all students especially for our youth and the LGBTQ+ community at large regardless of race, ceed or color.
In the last 25 years, what is one moment that gave you hope for Kentucky’s fight in equality?
